Absent- Convention Blog

Absent- convention Blog

In my previous commercial project it was quite stressful because there was no one helping me throughout the assigment. In this project i will improve the way i've been working and try to change the way i used CAM’s and become more diverse within my work. The work on my previous project , Dunkin’ Commercial wasn’t my best and can very much improve on the work. I will definitely improve the angles and quality along with the flowing of the film. The type of software I used Pinnacle Studios wasn't used to its full potential and would have made my commercial way better. Also it didn’t seem that much with eye contact in perspective it could've had more engaging with the camera.
For my music video I’ve chosen the song  is Good As Hell by the new upcoming artist Lizzo. The reasoning behind this song is empowerment of women and showing if someone isn’t appreciating  you just walk away and realize they lost something great. Which is very much great for young women and female children showing you don’t need a man in your life if he’s not appreciating you how he should. Lizzo fall into the genres of soul, pop, hip-hop and contemporary R&B music. This song falls into a self-love anthem which will give the empowerment of women is at the heart of this particular anthem, a fact that deserves not to be erased. The music video is packed with women of color, doing the work of preparing themselves for the world, and then feeling themselves in the most glorious sense.
In the song Good As Hell ,  by Lizzo it gives a lot of CAM’s and a Great Mise-En-Scene . This song has the typical standards of medium shot , pan , hand held , voice overs , zoom, three shot , and a wide shot.  In most of Lizzo’s music it gives praise to more of darker skinned tone girl or natural hair girls .The Mise-En-Scene in the video is great. The lighting gives and enhances the looks of cast as well as Lizzo .

Dunkin' Commercial

Dunkin' Commercial - Late

In my commercial I’ve experienced a lot of things in the phases of film-making. From the beginning, of the development of the story to the distribution. My idea essentially was to was to make a commercial about the brand, Dunkin Donuts which had appealed to the millennial audience such as morning shift workers or people who just need a cup of coffee that isn't overpriced .I planned  out the sequence of the story on my storyboard and then began filming the entire project off the angle I was reaching for. In my commercial I was trying to increase the sales of the lattes and munchkins as well as inform the customer on deals and that with the seasonal change comes more flavor and a more variety in the food.
The beginning of my pre-production  to post-production was very stressful and a learning experience for me. Seeing the whole process of creating a film and edit took a lot of patience and hard  work . In another blog I’ve mentioned how it was difficult for me to edit due to technical difficulties with the computers I was using at the time. Also, adding effects to give the audience the look and engaging content they would want wasn’t as challenging as the shooting. Making sure that each shot was perfect and pleasing. The type of commercial that  was needed to to appeal more to one group than another.
In my opinion, my whole project was learning experience it has a lot of content and could’ve been way better. I used a lot of pan and medium shot angles throughout my commercial I also had a handheld shot for example, zooming out of the pumpkin . I didn’t use a lot of shot with my tripod even though it gives amortizable shot. I could've used a more variety of CAM's within my commercial to prove my point.

Editing

                                   Editing Blog - Late

The  editing of my commercial was quite a story. The day of my scheduled editing I was not even able to do that I had to sit and write a blog about how I didn't get a chance to blog... What a bore. In my commercial editing process the app Pinnacle Studios wasn’t functioning and gave me some terrible technical difficulties. If it wasn't for the software I would've already completed the task but that wasn't the casein this story. Starting approximately 90 mins at a screen trying to figure out how to tie of my three paragraphs  blog on nothing but there's always something in nothing my mother tells me. The editing of my dunkin commercial taught me tricks and obtainable skills that i could use later in life.
The next class period I began to blog starting with the basics of cropping and getting the correct about of footage on the right amount of time , which was 25 to 30 secs in a commercial on a brand . Particularly, it wasn't what it seemed more skill and work is what it took reaching my back over what I called a work of art. My first commercial which was on a business I  work for currently , Dunkin' Donuts. Once I've placed and aligned my footage i started getting to the real work of it all. I started the moving of audio because i did have a voice over in my commercial because it followed typical standards with the brand. I followed through with most of typical activities in their commercial.
The most difficult part of my editing was transitions because you could put any but the many issues is did it help improve the flow or your commercial? In my opinion my transitions are different and give a different look for the brand .
